Baylor is a seasoned litigator with a wealth of trial experience. This is particularly important in a judicial race because a lawyer must have a considerable amount of experience trying cases in front of a jury in order to be an effective trial judge. The number of jury trials tried by Baylor as lead counsel or as second chair is in the hundreds. He has tried complex cases in both state and federal court and has an excellent reputation in the legal community for professionalism and integrity.
Baylor has also been a leader in the State Bar of Texas for the majority of his career and is currently serving the bar at the national, state, and local levels. In 2015, Baylor was appointed to represent Texas lawyers nationally at the American Bar Association, and currently serves as the district 25 representative on the American Bar Association Young Lawyer Division (“ABA-YLD”) General Assembly. For the past 6 years, Baylor has also served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Young Lawyers Association (“TYLA”), which is the public service arm of the State Bar of Texas. Baylor is currently serving on the TYLA board as the ABA-YLD Liaison. Additionally, Baylor has served on the board of directors for the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association for the past 8 years, and currently holds the position of Vice President.
